Summary
Koji's Quest is a VR-based cognitive rehabilitation game developed by NeuroReality, designed to aid patients in recovering cognitive functions through engaging, gamified exercises.
Description
Koji's Quest is a virtual reality (VR) game that combines neuroscientific principles, gamification, and smart algorithms to provide customizable cognitive rehabilitation. It is CE marked as a Class I medical device under the Medical Device Directive (MDD) and is available in English, Dutch, German, Portuguese, and Arabic. The game features dynamic difficulty progression, reward systems to motivate players, meditation and relaxation areas for breaks, and a virtual companion to encourage players when needed. It is used in rehabilitation programs for stroke, long-COVID, traumatic brain injury, neurodevelopmental issues, neurodegenerative issues and dementia, and healthy aging. The game offers various worlds to train cognitive skills such as multitasking, prioritization, inhibition, decision making, visuospatial reasoning, mental rotation, planning, memory, calculation, selective attention, divided attention, and information processing speed. Koji's Quest is compatible with various VR headsets, including Oculus Quest, Oculus Quest 2, and Pico Neo 2. It was beta-released in January 2021 and is developed by NeuroReality, a company founded in 2019. In November 2024, NeuroReality was acquired by XRHealth, a US-based extended reality therapy platform for healthcare. The company has offices in the Netherlands and the United States.
