CT:VQ™ is a Software-as-a-Service (SaaS) solution developed by 4DMedical that transforms routine, non-contrast chest CT scans into detailed ventilation (V) and perfusion (Q) maps. This technology integrates seamlessly into existing radiology workflows, providing high-resolution functional lung imaging without the use of contrast agents or radioisotopes. It is FDA 510(k) cleared and eligible for reimbursement under Category III CPT codes. Clinical applications include pulmonary embolism workups, chronic thromboembolic pulmonary hypertension assessments, COPD phenotyping, bronchoscopic lung volume reduction planning, and monitoring disease progression and treatment response. CT:VQ™ operates on approximately 14,500 CT scanners installed across the U.S., making advanced lung imaging accessible to facilities without nuclear medicine capabilities. The system is designed to be patient-friendly, requiring only a single CT appointment and avoiding the need for contrast media, IV placement, and related consumables. Additionally, it supports the review of prior CT scans to help avoid repeat imaging. Clinical evaluations have demonstrated that CT:VQ™ provides quantitative correlations with SPECT V/Q imaging, with agreement rated as good to excellent across all lung zones. The technology has been validated through various studies, including quantitative performance testing against SPECT, expert reader evaluations, and real-world clinical cases across multiple lung conditions. Early clinical partners include Stanford University and Brooke Army Medical Center. CT:VQ™ is available for investigational use only outside of the United States.
